It’s time to wave goodbye to summer and say hello to fall. But that doesn’t mean you have to stash away all of your summer clothes just yet. As we move more and more towards the direction of seasonless clothing there are many ways you can take your favorite summer pieces and revive them in a fresh new way to strut them right into fall. While it may be time to put certain pieces away till next summer, a lot of the items in your closet can be revived for the new season just by changing how you style them. It is especially tricky if you live in a warm climate and want to start dressing for fall but you are fighting 85 degree days. However, there are still ways you can achieve this. You may not want to throw a knit over your dress or add a long sleeve top to wear as a layering piece under your summer shirt, BUT you can throw on a lighter weight jacket, wear chunkier heels, mules, or booties, and rethink your accessories to still create the transitional look. Depending on your climate you may have to take some liberties with some of the styling I’ve done for my personal looks.
The key point is to STOP wearing your summer clothes like you would in July and find new ways to wear them for September and on into fall. And as the temperatures drop you can add tights, wear boots, booties and close-toe shoes as well as heavier jackets and layering pieces.
