FALL COLORS & TRENDS 2022
FALL FASHION FAVORITES
Fall always brings about the start of an exciting time of year. I love when you can wear jackets and knits without having to be all bundled up. Outfits start to take on a cozier feel and the layers begin to make their way out. Fresh colors and styles also fill the stores and online shops.
I have said this many times but I donโt necessarily believe in whatโs โin styleโ versus not in style. I think there are so many ways to interpret fashion and when done appropriately it really is up to the person and what they feel good in. I donโt like to ever tell people you canโt wear something I just like to offer my professional advice on maybe the best way to wear it.
And I always have pieces of clothing I suggest clients put in the back of their closet until the following season. While there are ways to wear many spring/summer pieces in fall it becomes a lot trickier in winter and some pieces are just better saved for a specific season. It also makes it so much more fun when you separate your closet for a given time of year because then when it comes time to switch it out you feel like you have a fresh new wardrobe!
Now onto whatโs happening this fallโฆ.there is so much color this season and I am here for every bit of it! I posted on Monday some of my favorite colors and shades for the season. But what I really love is taking a color like blueโฆ.you can wear so many variations of it from cobalt to French to navy. Same for hues like green or red. Just wear the shades you love most.
Some of my favorites for the season:
Neutrals: Camel, White/Ivory, and Brown
Brights: Tangerine, Fuchsia, Greens, Blues, Violet
As for โtrendsโ of the season focus on adding prints (zebra, bold black and white, houndstooth, fall florals to name a few), color (as noted above), leather (faux leather), flowy trousers, prairie skirts, lots and lots of knits, oversized pieces, baggy jeans, crop straight leg jeans, blazers, layered jewelry, chains, stacked rings, and bracelets.
With these trends, as with the colors, find what works for you. If you arenโt an oversized person, then find more tailored pieces or be willing to have things altered to fit the way you would like. If you donโt like big chunky jewelry, then layer it with more delicate pieces. Not a fan of bright red, maybe opt to wear a richer shade like merlot or cranberry. With fashion, there are almost always workarounds to make your wardrobe work for you. Donโt try and force yourself into clothes that just arenโt you.
And if all of this overwhelms you that is what a personal stylist is for;-)
