DRESSING IN L.O.V.E.

DRESSING IN L.O.V.E.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

I started out this month saying we need to LOVE more. Love ourselves and others more. But the calendar gives us a special day every year to acknowledge love. So, take today to tell those around you that you love them and find a way to do something unexpected for someone else. Send someone a nice note, or flowers, or some kind act of service. Just something to tell them you care. And then do something special and kind for yourself!

Now let’s talk fashion a bit! Dress in love….sound cheesy? That’s because it is! But that doesn’t mean it’s not true☺ What does dressing in love look like? Think back to the end of Sex and the City and SJP saying they were “dressed head to toe in love”. I have been thinking about that statement and what that means. You do not have to be in a relationship or madly in love to be dressed in love. Because to be able to love others well you first MUST love yourself! And if you have love for yourself you will automatically have confidence and there is nothing sexier than confidence. We all know what it is to feel great in your outfit. You have a bounce in your step and feel good all day. But why not have that every day? And let me insert that I do realize we cannot achieve this every single day because we do have our off days as we are all human. But for 90% of the days why not have that love for self and others coupled with confidence?

Now me giving you ways to love yourself is not necessarily in my wheelhouse but I can help you love your look. And this is what I say to myself and clients everywhere. When you get dressed you have to feel good in what you are wearing. If you don’t feel confident when you look in the mirror you will carry that with you all day long. You will be uncomfortable and that will show. If you put on an item of clothing that doesn’t fit properly whether too big or too small or just doesn’t lay right you will be tugging at your clothing all day and not feel good. So, before you walk out the door make sure you feel positive and good in our outfit. This doesn’t mean you have to feel like a perfect 10 but you have to be pleased with how you look. That will give you the confidence you need to take with you throughout the day. Without that, you will have self-doubt and insecurity.

And through that confidence work to love yourself through prayer, self-affirmation, repeating a mantra….whatever works for you. Just start your day with love for yourself and confidence in your outfit and you will be able to put your best foot forward….and hopefully, that foot will be wearing a fabulous shoe!

XO!
