WHITE FOR WINTER

The holidays always bring out our most festive ensembles….it gives us an excuse to wear all the bling we want and not feel like we are overdressing. Although I will always argue that sequins and all that glitter should be worn no matter the time of year or time of day for that matter I also want to talk about the wonders of white. I will also tell you to wear all year long in all fabrics and shades.

This week I have been talking about the wonders of white. To me, there is nothing more chic or classy than an all-white look. Now, this doesn’t have to mean bright white….it could be all shades of the color. And the holidays are the most perfect time to bring this look into full focus. Whether you are mixing a white jean and chunky knit or a gorgeous dress with a great fur finish they all work depending on where you are going and how you are wearing the look.

This week I am giving you five options of how to wear white and each creates a completely different look:

  1. Give your pretty white look some edge with a great leather jacket or dark-colored layering piece

  2. Taking your favorite summer dress and bringing it into winter

  3. Mixing your favorite knit with a silk skirt (this could also be a leather skirt or sequin)

  4. Creating an entirely knit look and this also shows the idea of layering oversized with a mini skirt which works for any variation of this that you wish not just for white

  5. Making your white (winter white jeans) work in winter and how adding something like a neutral colored vest gives the look depth.

Remember a few key points:

  • That adding a layering piece can take your outfit to a whole other level

  • Make sure you have at least one great white shoe

  • Add a pattern or solid tights into your wardrobe to wear when you are rocking these fantastic white skirts and dresses

  • Fur or faux fur in white is the perfect complement to any of these outfits

Happy Holidays and as always happy shopping!

XO!
