WELCOME 2020!

The start of something new…

New Year; New Decade Welcome, 2020! I have never been one to make New Year’s resolutions and once again I am sticking to tradition and not making any set lists for 2020. If resolutions are your thing then power to you; I actually admire you. One of the reasons I don’t make them is because I feel like they usually fizzle out over time and I like to set goals into motion that believe have a good chance of success. But I do believe in fresh starts and new beginnings!

One of the things I do like to do at the start of a new year is come up with a word for the year. And there are so many words that floated through my mind but after giving it some thought the word, I am deeming my word for 2020 is “surrender”. Have you ever thought of coming up with a word for the year? Or maybe this is already something you do. I find that when you have a word for yourself it will appear so often. You will see it in unfamiliar places, be reminded of it in unexpected ways, and will see how it applies to your life in new ways and how it can help to grow and stretch you.

I always have a hard time in the fall and into the holidays with eating well and staying in shape. I think this is a very common thing but some of us struggle more than others. I am one who is on the struggle bus! Between fall being the busiest time for work I have all year and the craziness of the holidays, eating well and getting to workout are two things that fall by the wayside. So, in the New year, I am committed to eating better (at least Monday through Friday as a girl still has to have fun!) and getting physically healthier. I am excited about a few new things I have in place to begin next week so stay tuned for more details on my efforts to get healthier in 2020.

January and February are my two down months of the year so it is always a great time for me to refresh. I have time to relax, read more, do some binge-watching, as well as focusing on my spiritual and physical health. Currently, I am reading “It’s Not Supposed To Be This Way” for spiritual health as well as “Beach Music” for pure fun. The first book I mentioned is amazing and I highly encourage everyone to read! I think I am also going to like Beach Music but am not fully into it just yet. Confession, I never watched Gossip Girl when it was on years ago and so now that is my mindless binge-watching entertainment and have also gotten into a new show called Messiah.

I am looking forward to making the most out of the start of this year. I hope you are as well and that you will join me in my quest to better ourselves in 2020!

XO,

TAMARA
