Traveling is something most of us love to do and I am no exception.  I didn’t really begin traveling outside of my typical family vacations we took every year until I was in college but really began spreading my wings post college.  And once I really started, I just couldn’t get enough. Something shifts in my heart when I travel and explore new places, cultures and people. I am fascinated by it all!  Since I have been exploring the US a lot in the last year, I am going to list some of my favorite places to travel in our great country.

Maine (Bar Harbor/Kennebunkport)

I have been in love with the NE ever since I can remember and there are countless things I love about it but when I recently traveled to Maine it quickly moved to one of the top on my list.

Hamptons

As I stated above I adore all things in the NE and my favorite beach spots in this area are in the Hamptons...superficially South Hampton, Sag Harbor, and Shelter Island.

Nantucket

Nantucket is definitely another east coast favorite. So quaint and a picturesque town!

Lake Tahoe

I fell in love big time with the place last summer.  It is the perfect all a year around place and combines my two loves; water and mountains.

vAIL

Vail is just a dream and every time I am there my heart comes alive.  Whether in summer, skiing, fall….any time of year I just love all this town has to offer; not to mention the incredible restaurants.

cARMEL

Carmel is one of my favorite places on the west coast.  This charming town, although cool, is just a true gem and will capture a piece of your heart.

Santa Barbara

I planning to choose this place as my wedding destination…need I say more?!

Siesta key, FL

Siesta Key is a childhood favorite that has lasted well into adulthood.  I used to travel with my family and my mom’s parent’s every spring break since I was a very small child.  Not only does it hold some of my fondest memories it also has the most beautiful sand and beach of any place I have traveled in the US.

OlD FORGE, NY

Old Forge is another place that captured my heart ever since I was a small child. This is the place where my father grew-up and where we traveled every summer to visit his parents and for all of my dad’s side of the family to gather together. They are some of the best memories of my life.

Sun VALLEY, Idaho

Sun Valley is another place that is close to my heart after our summer adventures from last year.  As Erik says it was the “dark horse of our trip”. I loved everything about this gorgeous state and would go back there in a New York minute.

I still have SO many places to see and explore so stay tuned as my adventures will continue!

And in the words of Doctor Seuss:

“…you're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!”
